What is STEMQnA? |

To clarify, comments are not released immediately - they are instead released at the end of the day so as to prevent cheating by looking at previous answers.
Any answers not formatted in the proper way will not be accepted and are not eligible for points. The correct format is School Name (WR, GR, etc.) and 6-Digit Student ID Number. Thank you for your patience! |
STEMQnA is devoted to helping kids expand their reach into science and math. We use prizes to get kids interested in science and technology. All students are eligible to participate to win prizes for themselves!

What is STEM?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

How does it work?
A question is asked once per day, over school intercom/video announcement systems. After the question has been released, students can answer the question on the website. It's that simple!
What do teachers say?
I've seen an increase in their attention over the course of the program!
The STEMQNA questions really make students think. It provides an awesome 1 minute period where students are racking their brains for information they can apply to figure out the answer. It allows them to use knowledge that is useful but is otherwise not called for in a traditional educational setting.
Any connection to a subject matter is great, especially when done school-wide. The program has brought more awareness to the Science classes.
Where does the money come from?

For the past four years, STEMQnA has been sponsored by grants from the Lawrence Livermore National Security community gift grant, as well as the Windemere Ranch Middle school PTSA.
